Why is sleep so important?

The human body does some amazing things during sleep! Not only does it allow your baby vital time for rest and recuperation but it's also the time when the body does most of its growing and repairing.

Will my child cry during sleep training?

We don't support leaving your baby to 'cry it out' alone and we would never advise that. Your baby might protest during sleep training, but remember, it's only because it's so new to them and quite often this is a frustrated cry. With our gentle approaches, you will always be on hand to help reassure your little one and keep their crying to a minimum.

Why does my baby wake so often in the night?

Although it might be frustrating, it's perfectly normal for your baby to wake up during the night. They are still developing their body clock and need to learn when to sleep and when to wake up. Depending on your baby’s age they may still need a feed overnight. As adults we all wake up during the night, but we have the ability to take ourselves back off to sleep; most babies can't do that and as their parents, we need to be on hand to help them.

My baby was sleeping through the night, and now they're waking up again?

Even when your baby is in a great routine and can self-settle, there may be times where things will change. Sleep is not linear! Developmental stages, growth spurts, travel, illness, teething, the clock changes, starting nursery – all these things can temporarily disrupt sleep. Remember that your baby is highly adaptable and capable of sleeping well again – these temporary setbacks are usually just that.

It's really important to remember that every child is different and there isn't a 'one size fits all' when it comes to babies and sleep. We will give you the tools to help you implement good sleep practices. However, your baby will sleep through the night when they are ready.
